SUMMARY:Masks of Resilience Workshop Series
DESCRIPTION:Damien Center’s art therapy program and independent artist Ventiko will host the workshop series “Masks of Resilience\,” a mask-making and storytelling experience that brings awareness to substance use disorder and addiction recovery. Participants will engage in trauma-informed art making designed to provide practical tools for cultivating resilience while navigating the realities of substance use and addiction. \nThe program is part of Indy Art Council’s Arts\, Health\, and Wellbeing initiative\, funded by the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA). The initiative connects the arts to social connection\, belonging\, and mental health while bringing awareness to substance use disorder\, recovery\, and prevention. \nThe sessions are free and open to the public. A culminating celebration and exhibition of participant artwork will take place Saturday\, April 4 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.\, at Cafe Oztara.
